Extra Heavy Leather Field/Safety Collar All Natural Veg Tanned Premium Durable Rugged Gear for Active Dogs Saddle-stitched for Durability

The leather we use for these collars is a 10-12 oz Wickett & Craig Vachetta hide. The leather is soft but very heavy and will darken in color with exposure to the sun to a deep caramel. 
There is a solid brass square in the middle of the back of the collar. 
The collars are constructed that way so that you can attach a leash and or ID there. The keeper we use is narrower than the large 1" keeper to minimize the chance of it getting caught on a branch or something when the dog is out in the field working or playing. 

MEASURING: We use heavy roller buckles. All our buckle collars have 5 holes spaced 3/4" apart to give you a little leeway in the size and weight of your pup. If you order a 16-inch collar, 16" will be the middle hole. We measure from where the buckle meets the leather or Biothane to the middle hole. If you would like help measuring please let us know. OUR HARDWARE: Our hardware is heavy, rustproof, and solid cast. We use exceptional quality,  low-lead solid brass hardware from BuckleGuy. All of their products go through extensive testing to allow us to have confidence in the durability of their products. The biothane is riveted with solid brass rivets set with a hand press. (IF you are not a fan of rivets we offer a leather and Biothane option that is hand-stitched.) We use swivel bolt snaps on all our leashes for your safety. Please be aware that scissor or trigger snaps can open unintentionally.
